Gluten is a protein contained in cereals such as wheat, rye, barley, spelt, Kamut and triticale, and oats which are not marked “gluten free”.
People with intolerance to gluten – during eating such food have a disorder of the normal structure of the intestinal mucosa, and disappearance of villi (mucosa of the components necessary to ensure the normal process of absorption of food). And this, in turn, can lead to various complications, including the whole body.
Symptoms of gluten intolerance and celiac disease

Decreased sensation or numbness of the distal extremities

If you have gluten intolerance – gluten free diet would lead to the disappearance of symptoms and improvement of health status. The average term of the elimination of gluten from the body: 3-6 months. Then you should continue to follow a diet at the same level. This is the kind of diet which you should follow your whole life without any exceptions. With celiac disease the diet must be especially strict and lifelong, whereas intolerance may be temporary. But you should not start eating foods containing gluten, without physician or diagnostician permission.
